This household name required a video conferencing system, projector, plasma screens and interactive whiteboard for a new boardroom used for small strategic meetings of 12 to 15 people.
This was a complex supply and installation project. The Boardroom was 7 metre square and high, in a newly converted building with two glass walls, one partial glass wall, a brick wall with window and a concrete floor. Client specified: Projector screen, flanked by two plasma screens, which could act as video conferencing monitors, so presentations were visible from any seat in the room. A fully interactive, integrated system, for PC presentations, video-conferencing and TV was required.
Instead of an Interactive Whiteboard we proposed two 42" Hitachi plasma screens, one of which had an interactive touch sensitive overlay, so that images could be displayed on the projector screen and plasma screens. This would mean the presenter did not obscure any of the presentation while interacting with the board.
Installation was entirely bespoke as the glass walls and low ceiling made hanging the screens impossible and produced echoing acoustics. We mounted the screens on height-adjustable poles and to eliminate the echo installed a surround sound system comprising of strategically positioned NXT flat panel speakers and a Harmon Kardon AV amplifier. Wiring was hidden discreetly beneath the concrete floor. Finally, we supplied and installed a Crestron control system to remote control absolutely everything at the touch of a button – even the curtains for the glass walls.
